Indy Eleven Adds Some New Faces to the Team
Monday afternoon Indy Eleven took to its social media to announce that four new players were being added to the team via USL Academy contracts. The new boys in blue consist of Midfielders Diego Sanchez, Alann Torres, and Aiden Benitez, who at just 14 years and 26 days old becomes the youngest player to ever be signed to a USL Championship team, and defender Ecris Revolorio. While four USL academy players of Defender Matthew Senanou, Midfielder Patrick McDonald, forward Matthew Roou, and goalie Alex SVetanoff will be leaving the main roster. Matthew Senanou will be returning to the University of North Carolina to play some college ball, Patrick McDonald will be returning to Indiana University to help the Hoosiers make it back into the NCAA Championship game, Matthew Roou will head to South Bend to join Chad Riley and the Notre Dame FIghting Irish, while Alec Svetanoff will go to back to the college recruiting process to find his home away from the Indy Eleven.
DIego Sanchez of Indianapolis, Alann Torres of Elkhart, and Ecris Revolorio of Evansville had all seen time representing the Indy Eleven in the USL Academy league play during the early part of this season. All four players had been working with the Academy set up team as well as the Indiana Fire Juniors team and had impressed Interim head coach Max Rogers enough to pull them up to the main roster. The four new players will be available for Max Rogers to play starting this Saturday when our boys in blue return to Michael Carroll Stadium to play host to the OKC Energy FC.
